beautiful things on a sunday

sundays are so silent......the only sounds outside here today are the cheerful song of birds. last week i suddenly heard a new bird singing outside here, i haven't been able to spot the exact bird yet but he sings so beautifuly....i can here him now too....*smiling*.....
the geraniums in my windows are showing signs of new shootings and they are turning greener and greener. i love these wonderful signs that tells me that spring is moving closer! every spring i get lots of ideas and as a result of that also the urge to do some changes in my home......are you that way too?
here are three very unique and BEAUTIFUL (just like the woman behind them) things that i would have loved to be sourrounded by in my home...*smiling*...

Susan's bachelor cupboard/rag weave and bee box (available at avalanche looms on etsy)

"Imagine an overgrown farm house where an old bachelor farmer has lived all his life, never married, just stayed put on the home place. He liked to eat Vienna sausages from a tin, and bottled maraschino cherries. He chewed Copenhagen snus, which he kept on the shelf.
I made this rustic box cupboard out of an old bee super, that holds honeycomb frames. Some of the waxy bee residue is still in place inside. The box is joined with plain cut dove tails, and nails with rusted heads. The old paint surface has been coated with matte varnish, and two shelves have been added. The back is open. There is one cup hook."

Alessandra's la casita blue butterfly patchwork pillow (will be available at shop-knots)

"For me the best antidote to nuisance is to get my mind and my hands busy doing something that makes me happy. I started to play with scraps of fabrics and hand-sewn them together, embroidered and knotted it here and there...as soon as I started to stitch my moodiness disappeared! This seat pad is called "blue butterfly". The butterfly has been identified by different cultures as the symbol of the metamorphosis, the restlessness of the mind, major change in the course of one's own life, personality or way of thinking, it is the symbol of free of expression ... I thought it's perfect to symbolize my feelings and state of mind ...
I like the name the ancient Greeks gave it to it: ‘psyche’."

Erin's Rainy day original paiting (erins window on etsy)

"It rained hard where I am today.
A perfect day to stay home, sit by the window, listen to the sounds of the rain.
This painting was born. :) It is about the coziness of staying inside - the warmth.

Pencil drawing with watercolour.
The plants drawn are dried parsley from my garden now hanged up side down in my kitchen.
I am very happy with this original painting."
